In Pursuit of "Responsible Tourism" - Monitor Tour to Kozushima! Part 1

This year, Kozushima is working on responsible tourism and adding value to its existing tours based on the brand concept "An island with an abundance of water that'll make you realize ordinary miracles" We conducted stargazing tours and monitor tours to co-create tourism content on Kozushima, working with participants to establish a way to experience the "miracle of the commonplace."

An online lecture was held prior to the tour. The purpose of the tour and the challenges faced by the island - such as a lack of tourists during the off-season - were shared with participants. The guide, Mr. Nakamura, a local guide, gave a lecture on the history and culture of Kozushima and familiarized everyone with the island's lifestyle, including its fishing village culture and venerable shrines.

The four participants arrived at Kozushima on the overnight ferry. After checking in at their lodgings, they were shown a guide map and given an overview of the island. They then enjoyed some of the local specialties at Yocchare Center, a popular eatery on the island. The guests got a real taste of Kozushima, enjoying sashimi and a set meal of simmered sea bream.
