Connect with Aogashima lovers using the hashtag #helloaogashima

On Aogashima, we have been working to develop connections with passionate fans of the island who value and enjoy the essence of Aogashima. Last year, we produced the leaflet "Hello Aogashima" to provide visitors to the island with information about local accommodation and shops.

In the first half of 2021, not many visitors could come to the island, but we look forward to the day we can see people visit Aogashima again. With that in mind, we post not only the beautiful scenery people can see on Aogashima, but also typhoons and other realities of life in such a harsh natural environment.

Normally, we would like to show off the island's annual events in real time, but sadly, Aogashima's summer festival "Ushi Matsuri" has been cancelled two years in a row. In the hope that it could go ahead this year, we posted pictures and information from the festival in previous years.

We decide on topics to post about based on much discussion on the island. We share information on entertaining topics such as Aogashima's cuisine, flora and fauna, and seasonal events and festivals. At the same time, it is also important to provide warnings about dangerous places to avoid, and information on things to be careful about on a small island like Aogashima.

Furthermore, in addition to posting from the official account, we have begun encouraging users to share photographs or memories of Aogashima, or their plans to visit, using the hashtag #helloaogashima.

Most posts using the hashtag come from visitors from elsewhere, sharing photographs of memorable moments on Aogashima. Seeing their photographs captioned with messages like "I want to go there again" and "A lifelong treasure" makes us want to deepen our connections with people who have visited Aogashima.

Until we can meet again on Aogashima, try experiencing the island as it is now, through our official account and the hashtag #helloaogashima. We look forward to seeing many more posts on Twitter expressing people's feelings about Aogashima.
