Tokyo Treasure Islands branding briefing held

On February 18, 2020, the 11 islands of Tokyo held a Tokyo Treasure Islands Branding Debriefing Session in Marunouchi to present their initiative ideas. Miyakejima introduced the history of volcanic eruptions and mentioned how their current lifestyle was made possible because of the volcanoes. They then proposed an idea of walking, studying, and tasting the volcano so that the island's treasures could be felt with all five senses. The participants reported on the circumstances that led to a multilingual digital touring app and a printing machine that can print photos for memories. In 2020, the initiatives will be brushed up using these tools to increase the number of Miyakejima fans.

With regards to volcanic experiences, the demand for nature guides was mentioned, but it was also mentioned that Miyakejima can be used as an important place to learn about disaster prevention on top of providing nature-oriented experiences.

Added value will be increased in FY 2020 by using data gathered from the digital touring app and printing machine, which will be used to propose more experiences.
