There are many examples of wonderful natural scenery, history, culture and special products in the island area of Tokyo. The Tokyo Treasure Islands Project is an initiative that aims to create brands and refine the islands’ “treasures” with residents in 11 islands.
Beginning in FY 2020, specific branding initiatives are being implemented on the 11 islands. The Tokyo Treasure Islands Meeting is also being held to bring members from the 11 islands together with the aim of sharing and refining each island’s initiatives and perspectives, as well as promoting inter-island collaboration.

The Island Meetings were held on 7 islands of Toshima, Niijima, Shikinejima, Mikurashima, Aogashima, Chichijima and Hahajima in 2019, at which the residents discussed to enhance the appeal of each island. Furthermore, the Tokyo Treasure Islands Meeting will be held, at which participants from the 11 islands are officially gathered in Tokyo to learn about advanced cases of regional branding and share their progresses and perspectives.
